About Grilled Turkey Burgers with Sriracha Cream Sauce
I’ve talked to people to who think that all hamburgers are bad for you.
They’re partially right.
Depending on the ingredients and the quality of the ingredients, some of them aren’t so healthy.
These Grilled Turkey Burgers with Sriracha Cream Sauce are an exception.
I’m loving Sriracha sauce lately. This sauce just adds so much flavor to almost anything. I can’t say I can use it as a dipping sauce all by itself because the heat would be overwhelming. At least to me.
But when mixed with other ingredients, this sauce is fabulous.
When my husband and I went to lunch at TruFire the other day, they had a turkey burger on the menu.
I haven’t had a turkey burger in..like forever.
And it just sounded great.
So we decided to split the burger and add a huge Grilled Artichoke to go along with it.
TruFire, by the way, is not only a fabulous restaurant that supports local farmers…my favorite kind of restaurant…but the portions are enormous.
We had so much food that we had to take half of the artichoke home.
But that fabulous turkey burger kept haunting me and I wanted to duplicate it at home.
So I asked the manager, a great guy named Eric, how they made it.
Bless his heart, he told me all the secrets including how to make the great sauce that they served with it.
So, of course, I had to share it with you.
So, let’s make it.

How to Make Grilled Turkey Burgers with Sriracha Cream Sauce
In a medium bowl add ground turkey, Sriracha sauce, shallots, salt and chopped cilantro. Having those ingredients inside the burger made all the difference.
So I lightly mixed the ingredients together and formed them into patties. With a pound of turkey, I made these burgers hefty 1/4 pounders.
Then I used my handy-dandy Griddler.
I really love using it because it really sears the meat and it cooks double fast since you close the lid and it cooks both sides at once.
My burger cooked for 2 minutes total time. Perfect grill marks.
But if you don’t have a Griddler, just cook the patties on a grill about 5-6 minutes on each side.
(Check that the internal temperature is at least 165 degrees).
Then take them off the grill, cover them with foil and let them rest about 5 minutes while you toast the buns. And they will nice and toasty in 1-2 minutes.
Next step is the Sriracha Cream Sauce.
So simple and so good.
Just whisk mayonnaise, Sriracha sauce and a bit of sour cream.
Assemble the burgers and serve.
Oh wait… Did forget to mention one thing.
No, I didn’t use it in this recipe but Eric told me one more thing…
Two Words. Manchago Cheese…
Oh my goodness. If you’ve never tried it, it’s a Spanish cheese.
It’s sooo good.
Especially melted.
Truth is, although I loved that cheese, I bought it intending to use it…but I forgot.
And you know what? Neither one of us noticed.
These burgers are that good.
Enjoy.
